Chillin' Out

My Cousin Ally & I were in 19 East bar & Grill last Saturday night to support & cheer for my honey's band "Slideback" as they competed with eight other bands for the Bar's first battle of the bands which happens every Saturday of Octoberfest and will culminate on the 25th.

We had a hard time finding the place since it was our first time to go there & my honey wasn't really familiar to the roads of Paranaque. However, through constant calls & texts to his band mate Tek, who provided us the directions, we finally found it and arrived there before 6pm for their sound check schedule.

I was really impressed with the place. It was cool, very spacious and has a very nice ambiance. The first thing we did was order some food since we didn't eat anything before we hit the road so we were really hungry. The waiter was helpful enough to suggest their 1/2 chicken inasal which is good for 2-3 persons already and quite affordable too.

While Ally & I were enjoying the food, the band had their sound check afterwards they had their dinner too courtesy of the bar.

The battle started around 10pm and the place was really crowded. People who wanted to enjoy some great music came but most of them were really supporters, if not family or friends of the competing bands.

The competition ended at past 12 midnight, sadly though, Slideback didn't make it to the finals. Although some members really performed well, some just messed the whole thing up. Oh well, who am I to judge anyway? Better luck next time rockers!

At any rate, I enjoyed the night and had fun watching the great & not-so-great performances of the up-and-coming bands of today. To top that, I really enjoyed the place. It's a great place to go if you want to spend some quiet moments with your special someone. You can opt to dine outside and enjoy the overlooking view of the metropolitan and some planes taking off from NAIA hehehe. Or you can go inside the bar to watch & listen to the featured artist or band's performance while having a bottle of beer or a glass of wine to help you let go of your inhibitions and be a real party animal.

(havin' some fun)
